Taylor County does not require a building permit for a single family dwellings, agricultural buildings, and any residential building less than eight (8) units. Only commercial type buildings, businesses, etc... require to be permitted.

Only commercial type buildings less than 20,000 feet or with an occupancy of less than 100 is eligible to be permitted locally. For these buildings the developer or builder may contact James L. Cravens at 270-789-2771, who is a contract inspector. All other commercial building permits must be submitted to the Department of Building and Codes in Frankfort, Kentucky.

Moore's men were from Michigan and some Taylor Countians served under Confederate General John Hunt Morgan. Unfortunately for Morgan, history saw a stunning Union victory at the Battle of Tebbs Bend on Green River.
