234.0      Other

Attorney Bertram told the council members that Sheldon Jefferies has agreed to purchase an easement from the landowners next to the new hotel off Highway 210. However the landowners are requesting that Mr. Jefferies’ land behind the motel to be annexed into the City or to impose heavy restrictions on what he can use the land for. The members discussed the consequences to the City if the private owned road by the hotel is used by the public to access the Jefferies land. If the property is annexed, Metzmeier asked what the City’s expenses would be for utilities and road maintenance. He suggested that any action be put on hold until more information could be obtained.
